It's been 15 years since Nissan North America and Habitat for Humanity have joined forces to help out the community, and a lot of change has been made over the years. With this impressive anniversary, Nissan has decided to celebrate by investing in many local Habitat for Humanity organizations.

How Has Nissan And Habitat For Humanity Responded To COVID-19?

Habitat for Humanity has a goal to provide affordable and adequate housing to families in need. This has especially been a concern during the pandemic, as economic turbulence has made paying for housing even more difficult. This year, Nissan has donated five vehicles to local Habitat for Humanity organizations to help them transport whatever supplies they need. These five vehicles bring the total of donated Nissan models to 59 Nissan NV Cargo vans and Nissan Frontier trucks. They have also donated a grant to the Habitat for Humanity organization, which totals $800,000 in contributions just this year.

To help out even more, "more than 11,000 Nissan employees have participated in team builds alongside future homeowners and Habitat volunteers." It's not just about the money, especially during this time. Parul Bajaj, Nissan's senior manager of Philanthropy, stated, "The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the economically vulnerable among us particularly hard. Nissan is proud of our long-standing partnership with Habitat that works diligently to lift up communities and make homeownership a reality for so many."
