Nissan Pathfinder vs. Toyota Highlander

See How Nissan Stacks up to it's Competition in Easley, SC

The Redesigned Nissan Pathfinder vs. The New Toyota Highlander: Which Midsize SUV Takes The Top Spot?

If you're on the cusp of buying or leasing a new SUV these days, chances are the Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Highlander are ranking somewhere near the top of your short list. These two midsize models from two of the most respected Japanese car makers on the market have long been regarded as the ones to beat by both automotive critics and drivers around the greater Powdersville and Simpsonville area. And the competition is only poised to become more heated as we roll into the 2022 model year, given that the Nissan Pathfinder is being fully redesigned. So, how does the new and improved Nissan Pathfinder stack up to its Toyota rival? Read on to find out!

Starting Price Point

For a lot of drivers we've served from nearby Anderson, SC, the choice of which car, truck, or SUV to get ultimately comes down to which is the most cost-effective. And with our attractive new Nissan incentives, we think you'll find that the redesigned Nissan Pathfinder is more affordable than the new Toyota Highlander on the market today. It's even projected to have a lower starting MSRP than the Highlander, making it the clear choice for shoppers on a budget.

New Pathfinder Easley

Technology

One of the great things about both the newly redesigned Nissan Pathfinder and the Toyota Highlander is that regardless of which model you choose, you're going to get more tech and amenities than most other SUVs for sale in the greater Greenville, SC area. From infotainment systems equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, to onboard Wi-Fi Hotspots for longer road trips, right down to integrated navigation and Qi-compatible wireless charging pads for most mobile devices, the new Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Highlander are jam-packed with cutting-edge features aimed at improving your driving experience. That being said, the new Nissan Pathfinder does have a bit of an edge on the Toyota Highlander with its head-up driver information display, which is absent from the Toyota SUVs equipment list. Additionally, the Nissan Pathfinder has a larger touchscreen available for its NissanConnect® infotainment system than that of the Toyota Highlander, making it easier to use on the go.

New Highlander Easley

Safety

As anyone who's spent a lot of time driving in Piedmont, SC will tell you, having a family-friendly SUV with modern safety features is imperative to taking on daily driving with total confidence. Luckily, both the new Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Highlander excel in that regard. The Nissan Pathfinder offers standard Nissan Safety Shield® 360 technologies, while the new Toyota Highlander offers its suite of Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+ features. However, the Nissan Pathfinder offers safety technologies that are missing from the equipment list of the Highlander, such as an Intelligent Around View® Monitor and an all-new ProPILOT Assist system, which combines its steering assist system with Intelligent Cruise Control to help you navigate highway traffic with greater ease by automatically slowing or speeding up the vehicle to safely match the pace of traffic.

Off-Road Capability

For Easley drivers who lead active lifestyles, both the new Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Highlander can be equipped with four-wheel drive, making it easy to traverse uneven or unpaved terrain. However, not all four-wheel drive systems are created equal. The redesigned Nissan Pathfinder features Intelligent 4WD with 7-Position Drive and Terrain Selector. And with settings for Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut, and Towing, the new Nissan Pathfinder gives you the tools to take on any situation you might encounter. Plus, the suspension system of the Nissan Pathfinder has been fully redesigned to offer improved on-road comfort and improved off-road confidence, so it easily surpasses the Toyota Highlander in off-road capability.

Cargo Space

The Nissan Pathfinder offers up to 80.5 cubic-feet of luggage space, which is only slightly less than the 84.5 cubic-feet that the Toyota Highlander offers. However, it's worth noting that the Nissan Pathfinder offers an underfloor storage box in the cargo area with up to 54.1 liters of extra storage space. You won't find underfloor storage comparable to that size on the Toyota Highlander.
