The 2025 Nissan Kicks introduces a full redesign that significantly enhances this subcompact crossover. This second-generation model is larger in every dimension, offering more space for both passengers and cargo. It has grown by about 2.8 inches in length, 1.6 inches in width, and nearly an inch in height. Ground clearance has also been increased to improve usability in a variety of driving conditions. The exterior now features a bolder front fascia, a high-mounted grille, stacked LED running lights, full-width taillamps, and unique rocker panel styling that give it a fresh, modern appearance.
Under the hood, the Kicks is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque, paired with an Xtronic CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is now available for the first time across the lineup. Performance has improved with a 0 to 60 mph time around 8.9 seconds in front-wheel drive models. Fuel economy remains competitive at an estimated 28 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway for front-wheel drive versions, with slightly lower figures for all-wheel drive models.
Inside, the Kicks receives significant updates to technology and comfort. Entry-level models include dual 7-inch displays, while higher trims offer dual 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a premium Bose audio system with available headrest speakers. The interior also features refined materials, a flat-bottom steering wheel, ergonomic zero-gravity seats in both rows, wireless charging, and an available panoramic sunroof. Cargo capacity is generous, with about 30 cubic feet behind the rear seats and up to 60 cubic feet when they are folded.
Safety features are comprehensive across the 2025 Kicks lineup or explore the Kicks Play. Nissan's Safety Shield 360 comes standard with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, lane departure alerts, and rear automatic braking. Upper trims add features like ProPILOT Assist, a 360-degree camera system, and heated sport seats. The result is a more capable, connected, and spacious crossover that offers buyers an appealing mix of value, technology, and versatility at an attainable price point.
